SCRUM CONTROLS
Management controls have to be solid and undisturbed at all time, even if whole process is on a verge of collapsing. OO techniques used in Scrum methodology gives loose controls some grip and allow the team to regain supervision.
Risk assessment is the most valuable control and it impacts as well as the team as other controls.
Contols
- There are many controls to maintain Scrum methodology effective:
- backlog contains information about bugs, defects, requests that were wrongly addressed in current release and needs to be corrected. Also functionality and technology upgrades are backlog items as well
- release and enhancement are important controls in the cycle – at given point of time are representing a viable release which bases on a variety of requirements variables, as well as time, competition and quality
- packets – product elements that have to be modified for further implementation of backlog items into completely new release
- based on backlog items modifications are also controls – needed changes must happen to improve current release
- before change there must be a problem to solve – so problems itself are also vital information and control to manage with
- risks assessment affects other controls and it is control as well – success of the project is based on risk assessment and any responses that it drafts
- solutions are between problems, risks and changes
- issues – any other obstacles not referred as risk, bugs and defects but also are negative for the project.
These controls are often used in many Scrum phases by management to, mostly, manage backlog. To manage changes and solve problems teams are using those controls, from time to time team and management join to manage issues, solutions and risk together. Controls undergo review, modification and reconciliation at every Sprint meeting.
